Individuation is triggered by the integration of a disparity — a phase offset between two informational fields, borrowed from stereoscopic vision, where two mismatched images resolve into a single depth. Without a phase difference a system cannot exceed its own saturation. Interference is this made visible: the artefact belongs to neither layer, only to the offset between them.
