A system is drawn to an attractor, but the attractor cannot be said to be doing the drawing. There is no subject behind the action; the action is the agent. The correct description of a diffusion model settling toward its most probable output, and what removes any temptation to say the process wants or intends anything — the computational face of metastability. A different random starting noise traces a different route through the same space: one individuation of a structure containing many, all real, only some actualised.
