chaos and determinism
Chaos comes from simple controllable processes, noise from many uncontrollable ones, and the transition between them is continuous — no clean line. Which licenses a working distinction. Noise for a system that needs some can come either from physical entropy already present in the electronics, or from deterministic processes whose output is unpredictable in practice while never random in principle. A logistic map is one line of code. Nothing in it is random. You still cannot say what it will do, and where a surface rather than a trajectory is wanted the made-noise case in octaves applies instead — which is the same structure basin and attractor describes and the reason individuation without a wound remains a live objection.
