The hardest question the set can be asked, and it is left open rather than answered. Individuation requires genuine metastability — incompatible potentials in real tension, resolved into something neither contained beforehand. A trained model's parameters are fixed once training ends; each output is a fresh instance of an already-settled structure, and the system is identical after a thousand outputs as before the first. Something can resemble emergence completely — specific, unrepeatable, contingent — without anything having been at stake in its production, which is hylomorphism reappearing exactly where it was supposed to have been refuted. The question is never whether an output looks new. It is whether the process that made it could have failed. Which is also the strongest available argument for the hand: a mark that cannot be corrected once made is where something is actually risked.
